The singular beauty of an earth turn

On this first day of spring break, JB urged us to go to the Botanic Gardens to watch the sunrise (actually earth turn). This isn’t the first time he has encouraged me to connect with nature outside when everyone else is asleep and under lots of warm blankets (see “There is no such thing as a false dawn”).

Though the idea seemed utterly insane at 5:30am this morning (except for the part where he promised to buy me breakfast), once we got to the Botanic Gardens, I couldn’t think of anything else that made as much sense as experiencing the singular beauty of an earth turn.

(By the way, there is absolutely no color alteration in any of these photos.)
