This weekend we were in Ann Arbor to celebrate my sister and her partner’s wedding. Since they were married in a small ceremony in Vermont last October, this Michigan celebration was for all their friends and family, all 170 of us, in their yard. There was a small ceremony under a chuppah which included their exchanging of vows (once again), and the breaking of the glass (see photo above). Even the weather was absolutely perfect. There was plentiful food and drink, music and dancing, laughter and conversation, but most importantly love, exuberance, and community in celebration of their relationship.
And celebration it was. Magical. Transcendent. Spirited. What could possibly be better than celebrating love in community? Mazel tov to us all!
