This song/ video, “The Writing’s on the Wall” is all about perspective and how one’s perspective colors what one sees, how one’s perspective can play tricks on our understanding. This video’s illusions are impressive especially because the video was made in a single take using a hand-held camera and involved some pretty complicated choreography including nine different costume changes (in real time). The building and set-up of over 28 different illusions took three weeks and fifty people.
A behind-the-scenes video of the filming of this music video is below and makes the original even more fascinating and awesome.
This song is from OK Go’s next album, Hungry Ghosts, coming out on Oct. 14.
