A Restaurant for Books

I am in DC with 125 8th graders. One of our stops was at the Library of Congress. I was explaining to BN that it was a readers library for most people which meant that you ordered the manuscripts you wanted and someone brought them to you at the desk at which you were sitting. You couldn’t check them out but could only use them inside the library at your desk.

“Oh,” she said. “That’s like a restaurant for books.”

Now that’s some food for thought.
