Friday morning harvest

Walking through the eye level anise hyssop (my eye level) profuse with visiting bees and butterflies, negotiating space through the flopping tomato plants weighted down by the fruits of their abundance (the plants leaning against each other for support), removing aggressive and persistent morning glories from strangling every plant including the delphinium which is trying to rebloom, skirting around the six foot volunteer hollyhock, deadheading the roses, redirecting the stray raspberry branches back into their beds, cutting back the mint to help the garden breathe, I gathered today’s harvest– oregano, marjoram, beef-steak tomato, basil, zebra tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, green pepper, banana pepper, spicy oregano, english thyme– reminders of the possibility of wild and utter transformation.
