Graduation at Sendai-Chuo

These are some of IB’s students (who are looking at him) just after elementary school graduation (6th grade). They are just about to gather with the rest of the graduates for a group picture. The rest of the elementary students are cleaning up the school, folding up the chairs and putting them away, sweeping the floors, rolling up the gym floor covering. Every student has a specific job.

The graduation ceremony, even in a language I cannot understand, was very moving. There is much more to share and say about education in general in Japan and this graduation ceremony. And many more photos and audio to post. After some time to digest and process.

Nihon-to nihonjin-ga kirei-to muzukashi desu.

  1. what a beautiful photo of the 6th grade children about to graduate. Even without your insightful comments about education in Japan, this photo tells quite a story.
