Wildlife in Rogers Park

So JB continues to shovel snow (it’s still falling!) and he hears a bunch of crows, intensely cawing, very loudly. He turns to see them chasing another bird, which he at first thought was a pigeon. He sends me the following email (after he takes the photo above):

VISITOR
CHASED INTO TREE
BY FLOCK OF CROWS
ACROSS
OUR ALLEY
HHHHHHHHHHHUUUUUUNNGRY    IMMATURE   COOPER’S HAWK

I just so happened to be hunting for my mid-morning snack too.

  1. I’ve seen your mid-morning snack, and I am sure that it would be chased by any bird in the snow!
